Who is behind this site

The site is run by Patrick Kühne, an independent travel publisher in Markkleeberg near Leipzig, Germany, who also publishes guides to other winter activities in Lapland. He reads the listings, writes the pages and answers the mail himself; there is no agency or editorial team behind it.

What this site does

Ice fishing listings in Rovaniemi carry similar names, but the trips are not the same. One reaches the lake on foot through the forest, another by reindeer sleigh or by a sleigh pulled behind a snowmobile; one lends you an overall, another charges extra for it; one cooks a big catch on the fire, another serves smoked salmon in a kota. We collect those details from each listing, put them in one table and link to the booking page. We do not sell tours ourselves.

How the site is paid for

If you book a trip through a link here, the booking platform pays us a commission from its own share. Your price does not change. No operator pays to appear, and the tables are sorted by the number of reviews, not by what we earn.

Where the information comes from

Prices, ratings and review counts come from our booking partner's interface and update automatically. Transfers, clothing, food, group size and age limits come from the operators' booking pages, read in October 2026. Facts on the ice season and on fishing rights come from Visit Rovaniemi and from Eräluvat, the fishing permit service of Metsähallitus. If something has changed, tell us and we will correct it.

What we are not

We are not a tour operator and have no ties to any operator, to Visit Rovaniemi, to the City of Rovaniemi or to Metsähallitus. For ice conditions, cancellations and meeting times on the day, the operator's own messages take precedence over anything written here.
