The short answer

The lowest prices for ice fishing in Rovaniemi are on the short trips of two to three hours with a transfer and a fire, the classic half-day trips with clothing included come next, and the reindeer sleigh trips and the snowshoe day with smoked salmon cost the most. Every trip on this site can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the start. At Lapland Camp, Shaman Village and Polar Magic Tour and on the net-fishing trip by Uncle's Fish, clothing is not included, so bring your own.

Each price is the per-person starting price GetYourGuide shows for the ice fishing listing when this page loads, so on a trip with a short and a long option it belongs to the shorter one.

What moves the price

Length is the first factor. Short trips sit near the bottom of the ladder, such as Lapland Royal Adventures with two hours and Polar Magic Tour with three; Arctic GM keeps its four-hour trip in the same range. Most half-day trips with clothing included follow. The way onto the ice is the second: a reindeer sleigh at Apukka or StayLapland costs more than a van and a short walk. Private trips such as the net fishing by Uncle's Fish and the evening on the ice are higher too, and Shaman Village charges a comparatively high price for its hour and a half on the river.

Each price in the table is the lowest option of the listing. Arctic Safari Guides sells a two-hour and a four-hour trip, and the table shows the shorter one; the longer one adds hotel pickup, more time on the ice and a barbecue lunch.

Costs on top of the price

On the evening trip by Uncle's Fish, overalls, boots, gloves and hats are rented for an extra charge. Arctic Safari Guides sells a winter clothing package after booking. Both trips by Uncle's Fish pick up within 10 km of the centre, and longer transfers are not included. Everywhere else the clothing, if listed, is part of the price. At Lapland Camp, Shaman Village and Polar Magic Tour and on the net-fishing trip by Uncle's Fish, clothing is not included, so bring your own.

Minimum numbers and cancellation

Some trips only run with enough guests: two adults at Safartica, two at Arctic GM, four at StayLapland, and at Super Vi two on weekdays and Saturdays but four on Sundays and public holidays. If the minimum is not reached, the trip may be moved or cancelled with a refund. Every trip on this site can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the start, and Apukka and Uncle's Fish refund in full when they cancel for thin ice or deep frost.

Value for money in the reviews

The critical voices weigh the price against an empty line or a bigger group than expected. Others found the morning worth it with or without a catch.

“Lorenzo was great, really nice guy and very interactive with the guests in our group. … however, the cost for me does not reflect the activity. no one caught anything, and I know that's not guaranteed but live bait would have been much better. the experience was cool, but the cost was too much”
Catherine · Ireland · February 2026 Ice Fishing with a Forest Walk · Wild about Lapland
“I was the only participant that day and the guide, Halsho, was really nice and helpful. He explained everything so well, answered all my questions and helped me to drill the hole too. He also built fire for us. It was so cold at that time, but we managed to catch a lot of fishes and we cooked one of them. It’s really fun and unique experience for me. Worth the price!”
Ayu · Indonesia · February 2026 Arctic Circle Ice Fishing · Arctic Circle Snowmobile Park
“It was sold as small group but it was 26 people in a bus”
Pauline · Australia · December 2025 Guided Ice Fishing in the Forest · Safartica
“Highly recommend this tour, we had a private tour with marjo as there was no one joining us. She made sure we were warm and explained the process to us. She even picked us to and from our accommodations, and then to santa claus village.”
Bryan · Singapore · January 2026 Frozen Lake Fishing with Photos · Beyond Arctic
“Was so fun, everyone was friendly and the guide was great! We didn’t catch anything but still had an awesome time :)”
Ellie · United Kingdom · March 2025 Private Lakefront Fishing and Barbecue · Arctic GM
“We caught quite a few fishes and we had a little barbecue. That was great. Only problem is that the guide doesn’t speak good English, so communication is hard sometimes.”
Diego · United Kingdom · March 2026 Winter Ice Fishing with Barbecue · Polar Magic Tour

Questions and answers

What is the cheapest ice fishing trip in Rovaniemi?

The short trips with a transfer and a fire usually start lowest. The table on this page is sorted by the current starting price, so the first row shows the cheapest trip today.

Why do reindeer ice fishing trips cost more?

The sleigh ride with the reindeer is part of the trip, on top of the transfer, the fishing, the clothing and the food at the fire.

Is winter clothing included in the price?

On most trips it is. The evening trip by Uncle's Fish charges extra for overalls and boots, and Arctic Safari Guides sells a clothing package after booking. At Lapland Camp, Shaman Village and Polar Magic Tour and on the net-fishing trip by Uncle's Fish, clothing is not included, so bring your own.

Can I get a refund if the ice is too thin?

Apukka refunds in full if it cancels for lack of ice, and Uncle's Fish does the same in deep frost. You can also cancel any trip on this site free of charge up to a day before the start.
